Rhodes-Fernandez say marriage vows

Amanda Claire Rhodes and Brandon Fernandez exchanged wedding vows during a 1 p.m. July 12 double-ring ceremony at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morgan City. The Rev. Sabino Rebosura officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Tralles and Melissa Rhodes, of Morgan City. The groom is the son of Gregory and Lynn Gros, of Berwick, and Kevin and Jennifer Fernandez, of Morgan City.
Decorating the church altar was arrangements of brightly-colored tropical flowers. Pew markers, created by Chris Rhodes, godfather of the bride, were of similar flowers adorned with pheasant feathers, antlers and burlap ribbon.
Eucharistic ministers were Mr. and Mrs. Cameron Webster and Dr. Robert Blereau. Giftbearers were Mr. and Mrs. Michael Michel. Readers were Monica Sevin and Gwen Price.
Music was by pianist Lee LeBlanc and violinist Dr. Aaron Farrell.
Escorted in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a strapless gown designed with a sweetheart neckline and a bodice of ruched organza embellished with Swarovski crystals and a corset-laced back. The drop waist lead to a tulle ball-gown skirt, embellished with crystal beads and appliques, which was finished with a chapel-length train.
Gracing her head was a veil of fingertip-length organza with beaded edges.
She carried a bouquet of white and off-white orchids, calla lilies, ranunculus, roses and peonies with a touch of greenery and peacock features.
Alyssa Rhodes, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a cocktail dress in peacock blue chiffon featuring a sweetheart neckline, an asymmetrical ruched bodice and a flowing skirt.
Bridesmaids, dressed similar to the maid of honor, were Alayna Charlet, Brittni Osburn, Summer Arcemont and Linzy Stages.
Bridal attendants each carried a bouquet of tropical-colored roses, calla lilies, and aqua blue and peacock feather embellishments.
Flower girl Ava Michel, cousin of the bride, wore a tea-length princess gown featuring a crystal-beaded and embroidered bodice with a tulle-draped ball-gown skirt.
She carried a basket of white and cream flowers similar to the bride’s bouquet.
Jared Wiley was best man. Groomsmen were Adam Rhodes, Brett Michel, Cole Gros and Corey Fernandez.
Ushers were Michael Michel and Ryan Darbonne.
A reception followed at the Petroleum Club of Morgan City.
The bride’s cake was a three-tiered confection adorned with rhinestones, peacock-blue ribbon, peacock features and brightly-colored tropical flowers. Topping the cake was a small flower arrangement, created by Chris Rhodes, featuring a silver “F” initial in the center.
Preparing homemade treats for the candy room were Monica Sevin, Tessie Michel, Linda Leonard, Crystal Acosta, Cathy Landry, Rosemary Cutrera and Melanie Thibodeaux.
Prior to the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Café Jo Jo’s in Morgan City.
The bride is a graduate of Morgan City High School and Nicholls State University in Thibodaux. She is a second grade teacher at Hattie Watts Elementary School in Patterson.
The groom is a graduate of Central Catholic High School in Morgan City. She works at Swire Oilfield Services in Houma.
They honeymooned at Sandals Grande Antigua Resort in Antigua, British West Indies, and reside in Morgan City.
