4-H scholarship winners announced

St. Mary Parish 4-H Agents Adriana Drusini and Jenni Ducote announced that three St. Mary Parish 4-H members were awarded 4-H scholarships this school year.
On June 21 in Baton Rouge, Kaeley Hill, a Berwick High School graduate, was named the St. Mary Parish 4-H Foundation winner. She received a $100 scholarship. Hill is the daughter of Keri and Kenneth Hill of Berwick. She plans to major in nursing at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux.
Ashton Landry and McKaila Darden, both Centerville High School graduates, were awarded with Louisiana 4-H Foundation scholarships.
Landry is the daughter of Kathy and Toby Landry of Franklin. She was awarded a $300 Lee Berwick Memorial Scholarship. She is enrolled at McNeese State University to major in ag science with a concentration in pre-centenary.
Darden, the daughter of Monique Darden of Charenton and the late Glenn Darden, was awarded the $600 Larry De La Bretonne Jr. Memorial Scholarship. She will attend Louisiana State University to major in wildlife ecology.
In addition, all three 4-H’ers are recipients of the 2016 Scott Truck and Tractor Scholarship, sponsored by the Scott Foundation and each one of them will be awarded $330 at the end of their first college semester.
All of them have excelled in 4-H project work, community service and leadership skills. They have been involved in 4-H since fourth grade and have been active at the parish, regional and state level.
The St. Mary Parish 4-H agents expressed pride the accomplishments of the scholarship winners and expressed hopes for a successful college career.
