Area natives tour across western U.S. with band

Three area natives, Jean’ Guillory, his wife, Mandee Pisani Guillory, and Roland Bennett, are part of the Day Like This band that has been invited to perform for The Extreme Tour. Other members of the band are Joel Fussell and Chanse Benoit of Thibodaux.
According to the tour’s website, The Extreme Tour began as a grassroots project of “The Extreme,” a cultural outreach project started by Ted Bruun and a small group of other Idaho residents in 1994.
The purpose of The Extreme was to use Extreme Sports and Music Events, held in communities across Idaho, to reach at-risk and counter-culture youth with services and resources that would assist them in making positive, as well as healthy decisions for a successful life. Eventually these events began to take place around the United States and “The Extreme Tour” was born. Now The Extreme Tour events take place around the world.
It is a faith-based charitable organization. However, the events are not religious events aimed at a specific religious market. It has been operating for more than 20 years and previously performed in Morgan City in 2005, partnering with Immanuel Baptist Church.
Day Like This was invited to be involved with the United States Northwest and Southwest tours and will perform from July to September. The band will perform at venues throughout the west, according to the website www.theextremetour.com.
Day Like This anticipates the release of its first full-length album, “Post Meridian,” to be in early 2017.
For the past five years, the five-piece alternative rock band has been performing throughout South Louisiana.
Jean’ Guillory, guitar and vocals, is the son of Steve Guillory of Berwick, and Lori and Earl Meador of Thibodaux. He is the grandson of Benny and Gloria Marino of Morgan City.
Mandee Pisani Guillory, synth and vocals) is the daughter of Grant and Madaline Pisani of Jackson, Mississippi, formerly of Patterson. She is the granddaughter of William Dupuy of Patterson and the late Frances S. Dupuy, and the late Horace and Rita Pisani.
Bennett, guitar and background vocals, is the son of Roland and Norma Bennett of Morgan City. Fussell, bass and background vocals, is the son of Bill and Theresa Fussell of Thibodaux. Benoit, drumbs and background vocals, is the son of Darlene Chamberlain of Chackbay.
