Awards earned by St. Mary 4-H’ers at Commodity Cookery Contest

Several St. Mary Parish 4-H’ers participated at the Annual Commodity Cookery Contest on March 16 in Houma. St. Mary 4-H’ers brought home several prizes.
While judges were judging the food, the youth had the opportunity to participate in two educational workshops where they were able to engage in physical activities and learn about the importance of dairy products.
St. Mary Parish Healthy Living Ambassadors Kennedi Williams and Madeline Williams were responsible for conducting one of the workshops and they also prepared healthy smoothies for participants to sample.
All youth participated with the service project that consisted of making healthy “blessing bags” that were donated to The Haven, CASA and MacDonell Children’s Services.
