Healthy snacks a hit in Bayou Vsita

In an effort to encourage healthy eating, Bayou Vista Garden Club Adopt-A-School Chairman Donna Richard, left, recently donated fruit and vegetables as snack options for students at Bayou Vista Elementary School. Included were carrots dug up from Richard’s home garden. Student response was positive and they purchased all the healthy snack options during recess. Proceeds from the sale was a donation to the school. With Richard is club member Janice Verret
