Laubach, Decondris named Children’s Day queen, king

Andrew Decondris and Brenna Laubach were crowned Louisiana Shrimp and Petroleum Festival Children’s Day King and Queen 2015 on Sunday following a random drawing held at the Spray Park in Bayou Vista.
This year’s royalty will be presented during the Louisiana Shrimp and Petroleum Festival Coronation Court on Saturday at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium. The coronation will feature the crowning of the adult king and queen.
Tickets for the coronation are $7 for adults and $5 for children.
The ball follows the pageant at 9 p.m. Local bands, Déjà Vu and Old Soul, will perform. Tickets for the ball are $30 and purchasers of ball tickets must be at least 21.

Laubach is the 12-year-old daughter of Celine Lee Laubach and David Laubach of Morgan City. She is the granddaughter of the late Henry Lee and Marina Lee and the late Ben and Marie Laubach.
The seventh-grader is a student at Central Catholic and her favorite subject is religion. She enjoys dancing, cheer, pageants and volleyball.
Decondris is the 9-year-old son of Josh and Ashleigh Decondris of Patterson. He is the grandson of Suzi and Jimmie Parker of Denham Springs, and Lisa and Mark Decondris of McComb, Mississippi.
The fourth-grader is a student at Hattie Watts and his favorite subject is reading. He enjoys video games and nature.
The Children’s Day king and queen will reign over Children’s Day activities that begin at 9 a.m. Sept. 5 in Lawrence Park in Morgan City. Children’s Day is one of many free festivities held as part of the Louisiana Shrimp and Petroleum Festival being held in downtown Morgan City Sept. 3-7.
Sponsor of Children’s Day is the family of Marion Bergeron and the late Oliver Bergeron.
