A 34-year-old Patterson woman was listed in critical condition this morning after the vehicle she was driving flipped over on the U.S. 90 bridge in Morgan City Sunday night, Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks said in a news release.
At 8:35 p.m. Sunday police responded to a vehicle crash on U.S. 90 bridge and discovered an overturned vehicle. According to witnesses, the vehicle was being driven in an erratic manner when the driver reportedly lost control, striking the guard rail then overturning, Banks said. Traffic was diverted while officers cleared the scene.
The driver, Nakeisa Walker, 34, of Patterson, was ejected from the vehicle and was transported by AirMed to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge and was listed in critical condition as of 5 a.m. today, Banks said.
A 7-year-old child was also ejected and found partially pinned under the vehicle. A 10-year-old child and a 14-year-old child were also injured along with Tradasha Brooks, 18, of Patterson, Banks said.
Those four other passengers in the vehicle were transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Banks said.
