Adopt A Family program set

St. Mary Community Action Agency, Inc. is preparing for this year’s Adopt A Family program.
The program is in its 15th year of existence and allows CAA staff and community sponsors to come together to support under privileged families in the agency’s service area of St. Mary and Vermilion Parishes.
The program goal is to ensure families have a happy holiday season by providing them with food and gifts. Sponsor participation is the cornerstone to making this program successful.
“Our goal is to assist needy families within our Head Start service area,” CEO Almetra J. Franklin said. “While we are asking prospective sponsors for a donation of $100, all donations will be accepted.” The donations will be used to purchase food baskets, clothing and a gift per child.
Franklin added that all community based organizations, families, churches, businesses and individuals are welcome to sponsor, and/or donate and be a part in the program.
All organization and individual sponsors will be invited to present gifts to their adopted family at the annual Adopt A Family program, which will be held at the agency’s central office location, 1407 Barrow St. in Franklin. The date will be announced.
However, in order to prepare for the program, the agency is asking all sponsors to submit donations no later than Friday, Nov. 21. Make all checks or money orders payable to St. Mary CAA; donations can be mailed to: 1407 Barrow Street, Franklin, La. 70538.
All organizations and individual sponsors will be invited to present gifts on Dec. 16 at 10:30 a.m. at the agency’s central office.
