Arrest made in 4 Corners homicide

An arrest has been made in connection with a shooting death in Four Corners.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported that detectives investigating a homicide in Four Corners identified 24-year-old Anthony Jamal Loston as a subject who was present during and connected to the reported murder of Ronald Chillis Jr.
Detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest on the charge of principal to second degree murder.
Loston, of 6201 Myers Street, Jeanerette, turned himself in to the Jeanerette City Marshal’s Office and was subsequently arrested by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office at 10:41 a.m. Thursday.
He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Morgan City and later booked into the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrant charge of principal to second degree murder.
No bond is set. The homicide investigation is ongoing.
Deputies responded Wednesday at 3:31 p.m. to a report of a shooting at a residence on Ronald Lane in Four Corners. Upon arrival, the responding deputy located Chillis who appeared to have suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.
Emergency medical personnel also responded and transported Chillis to Franklin Foundation Hospital for treatment where he was pronounced dead.
