Art events slated for summer in city

This summer the arts will thrive in the City of Franklin.
The Bayou Beaux Arts and Dance Program will host its dance performance and art show on Saturday, July 26 at Broussard-Harris Recreation Center in Franklin, Louisiana. The cost is $5 per person at the door.
The art show is from 5-6 p.m., and the dance performance starts at 6 p.m.
The instructors for the program are LaDaisha Bowles (dance), Jon Eenigenburg (drawing), Laura Zuniga (acrylics) and Catherine Siracusa (encaustics).
The Bayou Beaux Arts and Dance Program is supported by a Community Partnership Grant from the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and Foundation, Inc.
The Fifth Annual Promenade d’art de Franklin (Franklin Art Walk) will be held Saturday, August 23 from 3-6 p.m. on Main Street.
The Franklin Art Walk is open to local and regional artists and published authors. Entry brochures are in the tax and water departments at City Hall.

In addition to the arts activities, the Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center’s E-Learning Rural Mobile Training and Development Center will host a seminar on entrepreneurship at the Franklin Recreation Center June 11 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
The topic is “How to Start or Expand a Business.” The seminar is free, but it is limited to 15 people.
