Berwick, Morgan City announced lineups for July 3 celebrations

The town of Berwick and the city of Morgan City are once again joining forces to celebrate the July 4 holiday.
Berwick’s patriotic celebration, Rockin’ the Riverfront, will be held from 2 to 9:30 p.m. Sunday along the riverfront near the Southwest Reef Lighthouse of the Everett S. Berry Lighthouse Park.
Live music from Gone Pecans, 2-5 p.m., and Old Soul, 5:30-8:30 p.m., will play as patrons select from the food offerings being sold of jambalaya, hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, snow balls and drinks.
Morgan City’s Rock the 3rd will be held Sunday at Lawrence Park and along the riverfront.
Food offerings for sale will include pulled pork and pulled chicken, black-eyed pea jambalaya, orange sherbet, fried pickles, jalapenos, fried cheese, beef burritos, hamburgers, French fries, pastalaya, hot dogs and drinks.
Music in Lawrence Park will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. with Cliff Hillebran & The Anytime Band, 3 to 5 p.m. with Perkins Road and 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. with Category 6.
The festivities for both communities will culminate with a fireworks display over the Atchafalaya River at 9 p.m.
Patrons are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs but asked to leave ice chests at home.
