Editor's Note: Reginald Weary submitted this announcement of his candidacy for St. Mary Parish Council from District 10.

I, Reginald D. Weary, am asking for your vote to be your next St. Mary Parish Council at Large District 10.
I am a native of Bogalusa, Louisiana, but have called St. Mary Parish home for the last 18 years. I am married to Theresa Johnson Weary, with whom I share the love of our two daughters, Tieriana and Tayla. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1995 from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, where I majored in business administration with a concentration in marketing/management. In 2011, I attained an MBA from the University of Phoenix. I have over 20 years’ experience in the business field relating to marketing, management, and accounting.
St Mary Parish is a great parish, but has become stagnated as surrounding parishes have prospered. In order for our parish to progress, CHANGE is required. Working with my fellow council members, I will use my years of experience in municipal accounting and budgeting to address revenue issues create by current state and federal cuts. We are obligated to ensure that we are getting the maximum return for your tax dollars. I will work to enhance economic development, in an effort to attract new Industries. I will assist the SMP School Board and South Central Louisiana Technical College to enhance and develop programs for employability training for the citizens of St Mary Parish.”
This is my vision for growth in St Mary Parish, we must be proactive to create positive outcomes and not have to react to negative circumstances. You, too, have a vision for St. Mary Parish and your voice should be heard. I am ready to be your voice for change. “Together We can” On Oct. 24, please vote Reginald D. Weary No. 86 as your next councilman at large for District 10 (www.reginaldweary.com).
