Car slams into Sixth Street home

A car ran into a house on Sixth Street in Morgan City Sunday afternoon after the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle, but no one was injured in the incident, according to Morgan City police.
Lathaniel Washington, 61, of Morgan City was cited for careless operation with an accident after the car he was driving ran into the home at 12:23 p.m. Sunday in the 500 block of Sixth Street, Morgan City police spokesman Capt. James Blair said.
Residents were inside the home at the time of the accident but were uninjured, Blair said.
Washington became disoriented and complained of some medical condition, Blair said. But police found no evidence that Washington had a medical condition that caused the crash, Blair said. Washington “basically just lost control of the vehicle,” Blair said.
The house was structurally damaged during the crash, Blair said.
The car first struck another car parked at the residence and damaged it, Blair said.
