Chitimacha police chief retires
Chitimacha Police Department personnel, Tribal Council members, tribal employees, officers from other law enforcement agencies and family and friends of Chitimacha Chief of Police Blaise Smith recently said farewell as he retires after serving at the Chitimacha Police Department for 20 years. Smith served as police chief for the last seven of those. Above, Tribal Chairman John P. Darden presented a plaque to Chief Smith for his years of commitment and dedication to the tribe and community, and wished him well on his retirement. Below, Sandra Zulli, special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Lafayette Office, also presented a plaque to Smith wishing him well on his retirement and thanking him for the working relationship that has developed between her office and the Chitimacha Police Department.
