City residents can vote for ‘Honor Vets’
The City of Franklin is participating in Louisiana’s “Honor Vets…Vote” campaign, an outreach program sponsored by the Louisiana Department of State.
The “Honor Vets…Vote” campaign allows voters to dedicate their votes to veterans. Individuals who pledge their votes get to choose a bumper sticker, lapel pin or a printable certificate.
According to Mayor Raymond Harris, “This is a great way for citizens to demonstrate their appreciation for our veterans and for the freedom to vote that we enjoy in this country. The freedom to vote our consciences is one of the rights that our veterans have fought so hard for us to exercise. I hope that the citizens of Franklin will participate in this program.”
The City of Franklin has the forms to dedicate a vote to a veteran in the Tax Department on the first floor of City Hall.
