DA Duhe elected to board of Jeanerette’s First National

Sixteenth Judicial District Attorney M. Bofill “Bo” Duhe has been unanimously elected to the Board of Directors at First National Bank.
Duhe serves the 16th Judicial District covering St. Martin, Iberia and St. Mary parishes.
The New Iberia native has a long legacy of accomplishment in the region. His father, John M. Duhe Jr., is a retired New Iberia attorney who served as State District Judge, and 5th Circuit Court of Appeals Judge. Bo Duhe’s mother was a past president of the Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce and was an instrumental figure in the revitalization of downtown New Iberia during the 1980s.
The younger Duhe is a graduate of Catholic High School in New Iberia and is a 1984 graduate of the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, where he earned a General Business degree. Upon graduation, he worked as a Special Assets Officer for two financial institutions in Lafayette. He completed studies in 1992 with his law degree from Tulane University and, upon graduation became a law clerk for Judge Buddy Fleming in the 16th Judicial District. He assumed the duties of Assistant District Attorney for the 16th Judicial District in 1993, and in 2009 he became the First Assistant District Attorney under former District Attorney Phil Haney. In January, 2015, he was sworn in as District Attorney.
Duhe and his wife, the former Lisa Trahan, have three children, Sean, Michele and Mac.
Duhe is active in community endeavors, having served as a board member of Progressive Education Program, Inc. from 1997 until 2000. He is a graduate of Leadership Iberia II and was the recipient of the Masonic Award for honesty and Integrity. Duhe also received a 2011 Certificate of Appreciation from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Louisiana, for support and contribution of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Safe Neighborhoods and Anti-Gang Programs. He also served as a board member of the Community Development Task Force Board and is a board member of Community Resources Development.
