Deadlines extended for two city events
Deadlines for entries in the Franklin Art Walk and the Mardi Gras on the Bayou event have been extended.
Franklin Office of Development Director Arlana Shields said the art walk deadline is now Feb. 13 at noon.
Artists and authors can pick up a brochure at city hall, or one can be e-mailed to them by sending a request to ashields@franklin-la.com.
The Sixth Annual Art Walk will be March 4 from 5-8 p.m.
The new deadline to participate as a vendor in Mardi Gras on the Bayou is Feb. 11 at 4 p.m.
Mardi Gras on the Bayou will take place after the parade Mardi Gras Day. It will be along Bayou Teche and there will be activities for the children to enjoy.
Children who attend the event will be able to get a temporary tattoo, decorate their own masks and play on the 40-foot slide.
