Downtown Jingle Mingle, car show Saturday

The city will host the Downtown Jingle Mingle, and the Cypress Corvette Club will hold a car show Saturday under the U.S. 90 bridge.
A Jingle 5K and Kids Fun Run will begin at 8 a.m. Forms are available at City Hall and from Tri-City Track Club. The race begins and ends at the corner of Everett and Front streets.
The Cypress Corvette Club’s sixth annual Open Car Show will be 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. under the U.S. 90 bridge.
A silent auction will be held and door prizes given out in conjunction with the car show. Registration for the show will be from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Awards go to the top 75 and will be presented at 3 p.m. Day of Show registration is $35. Proceeds go to local charitable organizations, according to a news release.
Also under the U.S. 90 bridge will be a craft market with more than 30 vendors, a news release stated. The Jingle Trail Down Front Street will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday on Front Street. Visitors who get a Jingle Trail punch card punched at every store can enter a drawing for a chance to win a prize.
Pictures with Santa Claus will be taken from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of NicoBella with the donation to the Animal Advocates cause, a release said. The Santa Paws Parade will start at 2 p.m. and travel down Front Street. The top three best dog holiday outfits will win a prize.
A movie, The Polar Express, will be shown at 5 p.m. in Lawrence Park. The showing of the movie is free. Morgan City Main Street will sell hot dogs, nachos, candy, popcorn and drinks, and Sweet & Simple Cupcakes & Cakes will sell treats, coffee and hot chocolate, a news release said.
