Early voting starts strong in Franklin race

Early voting for the April 5 Franklin mayor and city council election has been brisk.
Registrar of Voters Jolene Holcombe said 40 mail-in ballots have been received.
Saturday’s opening day for early voting saw 304 ballots cast. Another 119 were entered on Monday.
The total as of closing Monday was 463.
Early voting continues through Saturday. Hours are 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. Early voting will be conducted at the Registrar’s Office on the third floor of the courthouse and also at the registrar’s branch office in Morgan City at 301 Third St. You may vote early at either office regardless of your address.
