First-day voting: 325 voters cast ballots

The first day of early voting for the Nov. 4 election saw 325 people cast ballots in St. Mary Parish, according to Parish Registrar of Voters Jolene Holcombe.
Of those ballots cast Tuesday, 209 were cast in Morgan City and 116 were cast in Franklin. A total of 460 people have voted thus far, including ballots mailed in prior to Tuesday, the first-day voting report stated.
Of those voters, 237 were Democrats; 148 were Republicans; and 75 were no party. A total of 229 men and 231 women have voted so far in the election. Three hundred thirty-two white voters have cast ballots while 118 black voters have cast ballots. Ten voters of other races have cast ballots.
