Franklin readies ‘Christmas Under the Lampposts’ Dec. 5

Christmas under the Lampposts is set for Dec. 5 and will feature four choirs that will sing for half an hour each, beginning at 7 p.m.
Choirs have two ways to enter the “Make a Joyful Noise” Choir Contest:
—Submit a 2-3 minute DVD of a performance, include the name and contact information of the choir and the choir director and mail or bring it to Community Development, City of Franklin, 300 Iberia St., Franklin, La. 70538; or
—Submit the Facebook or YouTube page of the choir by e-mail to ashields@franklin-la.com and include the name and contact information of the choir and the choir director in the e-mail. The Facebook or YouTube page can be submitted only if it has performance clips of the choir that can be viewed.
The winning choirs will be singing for donations during Christmas under the Lamppost, and they should decorate containers to be used to collect those donations.
The deadline for submissions for the “Make a Joyful Noise” Choir Contest is noon Friday, Oct. 30. Winners will be contacted by Friday, Nov. 13. Christmas under the Lampposts is Saturday, Dec. 5.
