Heavy rainfall in area

Franklin and surrounding areas have been deluged with rain the past several days, with some area residents reporting as much as five inches of downpour in a single morning. Drainage systems were overwhelmed by the thunderstorms that have wracked the area, and public work crews have struggled to keep up with rising waters. Though there has been a brief reprieve today, weather forecasts predict a return of very high chances of rain and thunderstorms for the next several days. (Submitted photos)
