Honoring law enforcement

Acadian Baptist Center honored local law enforcement officers Sept. 15 at its Senior Adult Luncheon. Capt. Clay Higgins, public information officer for the St. Landry Parish Sherriff’s Office, was the guest speaker. Higgins, dubbed the “Cajun John Wayne” for his Crimestoppers spots on local television, inspired the audience with his talk about his life and his work, and afterward posed for pictures and signed autographs.
