Horseshoe tourney Sat. in Patterson

The Cajun Coast Visitors & Convention Bureau, in partnership with the Bayou Horseshoe Pitchers Association, will host the first Cajun Coast Classic Horseshoe Tournament Oct. 24 and 25 at Kemper Williams Park in Patterson.
More than 50 pitchers hailing from 13 states are scheduled to take part in the tournament, slated as the final event for the 2015 season of The Horseshoe Tour.
“We are proud and excited about having the Cajun Coast Classic on our tour schedule this season,” said Ron Taylor, Horseshoe Tour Director of Operations. “The Cajun Coast Visitors & Convention Bureau and the Bayou Horseshoe Pitchers Association have been very gracious and great to work with. We have quite a few top players traveling in for this event, including the top ranked player Joan Elmore from Tennessee and No. 4 Dan Watson from Alabama. It is going to be a great tournament.”
The tournament begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday and is open for public viewing. Concessions will be available. Entrance to Kemper Williams Park is $2 per vehicle.
“We’re thrilled to be hosting this event that’s bringing horseshoe pitchers from across the country,” Cajun Coast Visitors & Convention Bureau Executive Director Carrie Stansbury said. “We can’t wait for them to experience the hospitality and beauty that South Louisiana, and especially St. Mary Parish, are known for,” she added.
