Jazzin’ on the River in Morgan City

The St. Mary Parish Community Foundation’s Jazzin’ on the River gala Sunday included champagne on Morgan City’s Front Street in front of Nico Bella where a dinner and silent auction were held. Dr. Dona Tesi, chairwoman of the event, said up to $30,000 would be raised to support reading programs in St. Mary Parish schools. The St. Mary Parish Foundation assists community organizations, helps schools and promotes philanthropy in St. Mary Parish. Community Foundation of Acadiana, the parent organization of the local chapter, is a philanthropic organization benefiting the region, with a particular focus on the parishes of Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Mary, St. Martin and Vermilion.
