Krewe of Amani Parade postponed to Saturday

Because of the predicted 60 percent chance of rain today, the Krewe of Amani rescheduled its parade for 4 p.m. Saturday, Mayor Rodney Grogan said in a news release.
Due to a float rental agreement and parade schedule changes statewide, neither Sunday nor Tuesday was feasible to hold the parade, Grogan said.
Participants will line up at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Patterson High School. The parade will end at Place Norman Shopping Center, the mayor said.
The rain is expe cted to leave by parade time Tuesday, but high temperature will reach only into low 50s.
The Krewe of Hephaestus, the oldest local krewe, will parade at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Morgan City. The parade will organize at the corner of Sixth and Sycamore streets in Morgan City, proceed down Sixth Street to Marguerite Street, Ninth Street, Brashear Avenue, and Victor II Boulevard, ending at the auditorium.
The Siracusa/Greenwood Mardi Gras Parade will also be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Siracusa Subdivision near Morgan City.
Participants will line up on Siracusa Road at 1 p.m. Tuesday and proceed to James Street and Grace Street before ending at the Siracusaville Recreation Center.

The Krewe of Adonis in Morgan City, the Krewe of Dionysus in Bayou Vista and the Krewe of Galatea in Morgan City held their parades Friday, Saturday and Sunday, respectively. The krewes of Hephaestus and Amani held each of their Carnival balls Saturday.
