The Cajun Coast Visitors & Convention Bureau is accepting nominations for the 2015 Employee of the Year Award. The award is open to all front-line employees in the hospitality industry who’ve rendered outstanding hospitality to a guest, his or her employer, the community, or the hospitality industry as a whole.
The winner will be announced at the St. Mary Chamber of Commerce Banquet on Jan. 28 at Cypress Bayou Casino. The winner will receive a $150 check, a jacket and a gift basket worth over $200.

Blood drive with
‘Star Wars’ theme
Help United Blood Services celebrate the release of the “Star Wars” movie by donating blood today until 6 p.m. at United Blood Services Donor Center, 1234 David Drive, Suite 102 in Morgan City.
All donors will receive a voucher for a free movie ticket from Fandango and a $10 Amazon.com gift card through our online rewards store. Donors are also entered to win a BB8 droid.

Account open for
child’s medical bills
A special account is open at M C Bank for infant Aubrie Aucoin to assist with medical expenses due to open heart surgery.
Aubrie is the daughter of Ryan Aucoin and Brittany Bourgeois.
The account is set up with both parents’ names. Anyone wishing to assist with medical expenses can visit any M C Bank location.
Checks should be made payable to either parent.
St. Mary NAACP
will meet Dec. 28
The St. Mary Parish Chapter of the NAACP will meet at 6 p.m. Dec. 28 at the Walmsley United Methodist Church, 608 Ferret St. in Morgan City
