MLK fire under investigation

Franklin Fire Department personnel battled a structure fire on Martin Luther King Boulevard Wednesday night.
Chief Chuck Bourgeois said a 12:44 a.m. 911 call dispatched firefighters to the two-story residence at 310 Martin Luther King Blvd. Fire was showing in the front and right side of the structure, and to the second floor. Arrival time was two minutes, Bourgeois said.
The scene was under control at 1:59 a.m. Franklin responded with two pumpers, ladder truck and service unit, with mutual aid from Baldwin, Centerville, District 11 and Patterson fire departments.
Bourgeois said the fire “was of a suspicious nature and is under investigation.
No injuries were reported.
