More than 3,000 vote early

Just over 3,000 St. Mary Parish voters cast their ballots during early voting for the Nov. 4 election.
Registrar of Voters Jolene Holcombe said Tuesday, the final day of absentee voting, 693 people in the parish voted early with 306 votes cast in Franklin and 387 cast in Morgan City, according to the registrar of voters report. A total of 3,021 people cast their ballots.
As of Tuesday, 1,558 Democrats voted; 1,023 Republicans have voted; and 440 no party voters have cast ballots. A total of 2,145 white voters have cast ballots; 822 black voters have cast ballots; and 54 voters of other races have cast ballots. Voters were divided between 1,396 men and 1,625 women.
