No injures in Sorrell blaze

Fire Protection District 11 responded to a mobile home fire on La. 318 at 5:21 a.m., Monday morning.
Responders arriving at 5:27 a.m. encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from a rear bedroom of the mobile home.
By 5:36 a.m., fire ground command was calling the scene under control.
District 11 responded with three pumpers, one service/tanker, one chief officer unit and 12 fire personnel with 7,000 gallons of mobile water. Firefighters from Chitimacha and Jeanerette departments and the St. Mary Sheriff’s Office assisted District 11 personnel. In all eight emergency apparatuses and 16 firefighters were on scene.
No injuries were reported at the time of the incident.
District 11 Fire Chief Clarence Clark reminds everyone to inspect their window AC units before turning them on to make sure everything is in working order.
