One person injured in wreck that tied up bridge

The U.S. 90 bridge eastbound lanes were shut down for about an hour Thursday afternoon after an SUV rear-ended a sugar cane truck on the Berwick side of the bridge, St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Spokeswoman Traci Landry said.
The woman driving the SUV was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The wreck occurred at about 12:15 p.m. Thursday.
The driver was the only occupant in the SUV, and the sugar cane truck driver was uninjured, Landry said.
Both vehicles were traveling east when the wreck occurred.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation and no citations had been issued as of this morning, Landry said.
