Parish council will meet Wednesday
Members of the St. Mary Parish Council are slated to meet in regular session Wednesday.
Items on the agenda include consideration of proposed ordinances on a zoning map amendment at 122 Polaris Road in Bayou Vista from a mixed residential zone to light industrial; and amendment of the 2014 budget.
The council also is slated to meet in executive session to discuss legal proceedings against the parish by Garden City Apartments LLC and developer Lloyd Harris who is fighting the council’s decision to deny him approval for the development.
Resolutions up for passage include update of the Hazard Mitigation Plan and adjustment of solid waste disposal fees for municipalities.
Several guests to appear include Keep St. Mary Parish Beautiful Director Rodney Grogan, St. Mary Council on Aging Director Beverly Domengeaux, Raintree 4-H leaders and students and Hoodstock founder Courtney Long.
A public hearing on the proposed ordinances will be called at 5:45 p.m. and the regular meeting will convene at 6 p.m.
