Peacemaker Award

Chez Hope Family Violence Crisis Center Director Sami Riley, left, presents the organization’s Peacemaker Award to Garden City resident Gary Blum at this morning’s annual Unity Day Breakfast. Riley said Blum has been a supporter of Chez Hope in many ways over the years including acquiring the new building on Main Street, sponsoring functions and much more. Mayor and the parish president also signed a proclamation this morning declaring anti-domestic violence month for October. Chez Hope will hold an open house at 801 Main St., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today.
