St. Mary Soil and Water Conservation district members and volunteers planted 3,000 California bulrush off the coastline by Luke’s Landing last Saturday. The U.S. Farm Service Agency, Natural Resource Conservation Service, St. Mary 4-H as well as local citizens volunteered in the planting. The planting helps prevent erosion and to re-vegetate areas to stop the coastline from being washed away. The group ready for planting, above, and below are Troy Thibodeaux and Sheila Bonvillain, Earth Team volunteers.
