MLK group awards program set June 13

The Martin Luther King Jr. Committee will hold its annual “What Manner of Man Awards” banquet on Friday June 13, at the Forest Restaurant.
This year’s honorees are two deserving African-Americans — Janis Jones of Verdunville and Leroy Trim of Morgan City.
A posthumous award will also be presented to the family of the Rev. C.E. Baptiste of Baldwin.
Reservations are required and no tickets will be sold at the door. Ticket prices are $25 and can be purchased from any member or by calling Community Action Agency at 337-828-5703. Ticket sale deadline is June 7. Seating begins at 6:30 p.m., and the program begins at 7 p.m.,
