Public works fire

Franklin firefighters were called out shortly before 1 p.m. Thursday to put out a fire that destroyed this dump truck at the St. Mary Parish public works facility on La. 182. Assistant Fire Chief Jeff Hildreth said it is believed that the fire was ignited as a result of a ruptured hydraulic line on the fairly new vehicle. There were no injuries reported.
