Recognizing a hero

Hattie Watts Elementary fourth-grader Zane Bartley was recognized during Tuesday’s City Council meeting for receiving the COX Inspirational Hero Award. Bartley was diagnosed with mild cerebral palsy at age 2 due to a stroke, his mother, Faith Bartley said. The school unanimously nominated Bartley for the award, which is given to students who have overcome obstacles in their lives, Fryou said.
