Recruitment activities for Head Start

The St. Mary Community Action Agency Head Start is providing several Head Start recruitment activities next week for the 2016-2017 school year.
Family Engagement Partnership staff members will host special Fun Registration days at three recruitment sites, where parents will be able to register their children for Head Start. This Recruitment Fest runs Monday through Wednesdauy. There will be information, music, refreshments, games, and fun for the whole family.
Parents unable to attend the registration events can call St. Mary CAA’s Central Office any day during the week at 337-828-5703 for an appointment, or a Head Start center in their area during the three recruitment days between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2p.m.
Recruitment events will be held at the following locations for the specifically named Head Start centers.
--Monday at Baby Bear Head Start Center, 710 Greenwood St., Morgan City, 985-385-6950, for parents with children who will be attending Baby Bear, Tweety Bird, Yogi Bear, or Winnie the Pooh Head Start Centers.
--Tuesday at St. Mary CAA Central Office, 1407 Barrow St., Franklin, 337-828-5703, for parents with children who will be attending either Peter Pan or Bambi Head Start Center.
--Wednesday at Mickey Mouse Head Start Center, 105 TJ Hatcherson St., Baldwin, for parents with children who will be attending either Mickey Mouse or Bambi Head Start Centers.
Parents must bring each child’s birth certificate, Social Security card and an up-to-date immunization record, plus proof of family income (for example, food stamp change-closure sheets, a TANF printout, W-2 form, income tax return).
A Medicaid card (if applicable) should be provided along with a copy of each child’s physical (preferably Kid Med) if one was taken within the last year or health insurance card (if applicable).
Documentation of disability and an IEP (if applicable) and proof of guardianship (if applicable) should also be submitted.
