Runoff set for Ward 5 justice of the peace

Constables and justices of the peace across the parish also ran for their positions Tuesday.
The local race results were:
—Justice of the peace, Ward 5: Lee Condolle entered a runoff with David W. Hill. Condolle received 1,215 votes comprising 41.21 percent of the vote, while Hill received 1,012 votes for 34.33 percent of the total. Mamie Soudelier Perry received 721 votes.
—Constable, Ward 5: James P. Carinhas won with 52.14 percent of the total, comprised of 1,538 votes. His opponents Bronson Blanchard received 595 votes, while Doug Perry received 817 votes.
—Justice of the peace, Ward 8: Herbert Mashburn won with 1,349 votes comprising 58.05 percent, while Shawn Canty received 41.95 percent with 975 votes.
—Constable, Ward 9: “Joey” Foret received 70.82 percent of the vote with 199 votes, while his opponent John S. Arceneaux received 82 votes and 29.18 percent of the tally.
All results are unofficial until Friday when the results are certified.
