Seeking divine intervention

For the 40th time, members of the Lady Star of the Sea Confraternity stood before the statue they donated on Brashear Avenue to pray for protection from hurricanes on Sunday. Coordinator Carol Ackerman leads the group of 25 in song. The organization donated the statue in 1975. It’s inscribed with the words, “Our Lady Star of the Sea, Help and Protect Us.”
