Don Rich has been enjoying making a living playing music for the past 49 years. The fifth generation in his family to play music, he performs three to five nights a week. He plays eight instruments including piano, organ, accordion, fiddle, saxophone, guitar, drums and bass. He was influenced by his dad, Golen Richard, who passed away in 1965, and Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Otis Scott, Merle Haggard and George Jones. He will perform at this year’s Shrimp & Petroleum Festival at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7.
