St. Mary Parish's Most Wanted

By ZACHARY FITZGERALD zfitzgerald@daily-review.com

Two suspects who had been featured in The Daily Review’s Most Wanted edition were arrested this week, one for attempted murder and the other for burglary, and new additions to February’s edition include a 37-year-old Broussard man wanted for creating a meth lab within 1,000 feet of a school in Morgan City.
On Wednesday, Barron F. Kenner, 40, of First Street in Morgan City, who had been on the Most Wanted list since October, was arrested on a warrant for attempted second degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm in a firearm free zone.
Kenner was booked into the Morgan City Jail on warrants for his involvement in a shooting near Maitland Elementary School on Oct. 21, 2013, in which two other suspects were injured and arrested.
Kenner had been on the Most Wanted list since October. Morgan City police detectives traveled to Terrebonne Parish with information regarding Kenner’s whereabouts. Kenner was located in the Houma area and transported to the Morgan City Police Department.
On Saturday, Ricky Tate Jr., 31, of the 4600 block of Irish Bend Road in Franklin, was arrested on Eunice police charges for vagrancy, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamines, violation of the uniform controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone), transactions involving drug proceeds, and a hold for St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office burglary warrants, Deputy Eunice Police Chief Varden Guillory said in a news release.
Tate was wanted on a St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant for simple burglary after he broke into a warehouse on La. 182 in Garden City. The investigation into the burglary began Dec. 18. Among the items taken were power saws, copper pipe and brass fittings.
Guillory said a female called 911 Saturday morning and stated that she was inside of a gray Dodge pickup truck, and the male driver was refusing to let her get out of the vehicle. Officers located the pickup truck in the parking lot of Winn Dixie and observed the driver, Tate, asleep while the vehicle was running.
Officers seized a pipe used to smoke methamphetamine, and Tate also possessed three plastic bags of a white crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine, Guillory said.
Morgan City
David W. Mire, 37, whose last known address is in the 1000 block of Duchamp Road in Broussard, is wanted by police on warrants for operation of a clandestine lab and creation of a clandestine lab within 1,000 feet of school property.
Mire is wanted in connection with a Morgan City police investigation that began in February regarding the operation of a clandestine lab used to make methamphetamine in the area of Sixth Street in Morgan City, Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks said in a news release.
Mire was identified as a suspect in the investigation, Banks said. Anyone who has any information regarding Mire’s location is asked to contact the Morgan City Police Department at 985-384-2310, 911 or the local law enforcement agency.
Mitchell Freeman, 50, whose last known address is in Benton, Ky., was first featured in December’s edition and is wanted on a warrant for forgery and theft. He is 6 feet tall and weighs 190 pounds.
On Dec. 6, Morgan City police began an investigation into a forgery and theft. The person depicted in a surveillance photograph was alleged to have committed the theft of a check from a local company and cashing it at an area bank in the amount of $4,800, according to police. Detectives were able to positively identify the suspect as Freeman.

Authorities are still searching for Cody Paul Pearce, 25, whose last known address is River Road in Berwick, who is wanted on a warrant for second degree battery. Pearce was first featured in December’s Most Wanted edition.
On Nov. 10, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report of a 16-year-old male who had been punched in the face and sustained a broken jaw as a result of the attack, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release. The investigation revealed that the incident occurred on Nov. 7 when the victim was visiting a friend’s residence on Hunting Road in Ricohoc. Pearce, who was also at the residence, pushed the victim and then punched him, Hebert said. Investigators received information that Pearce may possibly be in the Stephensville area, Hebert said.
Previously featured suspects Larry Dean Robertson Jr., Andre Jones and Belinda Ann Arceneaux are still wanted. Robertson is wanted for armed robbery and for failure to appear for simple robbery. Jones is wanted for failure to appear for criminal neglect of family. Arceneaux is wanted on six warrants for issuing worthless checks.
