Summit for youth taking applications

Next Generation Summit V is set for 8:30 a.m. July 30 at the community center in Baldwin.
This is a free event by Goodwill Industries of Acadiana Inc. and Praise Entertainment Inc., geared to promote students’ career and life exploration and planning. It is designed to encourage youth to stay in school and consider their future and goals.
Application deadline is Friday, and only 100 applicants will be enrolled on a first-come, first-served basis. Once enrolled, each registrant will receive a letter of acceptance to attend the seminar. It is for ages 10-16
Applications are available at Baldwin Town Hall and at various churches in the town.
Requirements of applicants are:
—Abide by rules during the event
—Display respect, appropriate behavior and actively participate
Parents are asked to:
—Complete and sign the registration
—Secure a chaperone to attend the event with the child, or secure one the morning of the event by an event volunteer
—Promptly pick up their child at the conclusion of the program at 1 p.m.
—Make accommodations if a child has medical concerns
—If a participant disobeys rules, pick up the child immediately.
