Temporary water outages possible Thursday, Friday
Water service may be temporarily interrupted in Wyandotte Subdivision on Thursday and in the areas of Sixth and Hickory streets on Friday due to the testing and installation of water valves, according to a city news release.
The city will be exercising water valves Thursday in Wyandotte subdivision between the hours of 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. and continuing from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., the release stated. The area being worked on will not affect the regular school session at Wyandotte Elementary. Any outages customers will experience will be temporary, the release stated.
On Friday, water service will be temporarily halted to install a new water valve at the corner of Sixth and Hickory streets beginning at 8 a.m. and ending at around 11 a.m. Areas affected will be from Fig Street to Sacred Heart Drive and from Sixth Street to Cedar Street. The exercising of valves is part of an effort to continue the improvements needed to the city's water system, the release said.
