Tech’s Dean’s List
Randy Carol Hoff of Berwick was named to the Dean’s List at Louisiana Tech for the spring semester.
The President’s Honor List signifies achievement of at least a 3.8 academic grade point average on a minimum of nine semester hours completed (100-level or higher), with no grade lower than a B.
To be eligible for the Dean’s Honor Lists, a student is required to earn at least a 3.5 academic grade point average with no grade lower than a C on a minimum of nine semester hours completed (100-level or higher).
Berwick man wins
LSU Law honor
Berwick native Thomas Bourgeois Jr. was named a Paul M. Hebert Scholar by the LSU Law Center for the spring 2016 semester.
Bourgeois recently graduated from the LSU Law Center and is among 50 students who were awarded the Hebert Scholar honor.
The Paul M. Hebert Scholar is awarded to the top 10 percent of LSU Law students earning 12 or more semester hours of credit in courses taken at the Law Center. The award is noted on students’ transcripts.

Tulane grads
Tulane University awarded degrees to nearly 3,000 graduates on May 14 at the
Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
--Jason Gauthier of Berwick graduated from the School of Medicine with a Doctor of Medicine degree.
--Stephen Swiber of Morgan City graduated from the School of Liberal Arts with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
The ceremony’s keynote speaker was Hoda Kotb, co-host of NBC’s “Today” show, who also received a Tulane President’s Medal. Honorary degrees were given to renowned artist Lynda Benglis and Christopher Paola, a world leader in the study of earth surface processes, particularly in river and delta regions.
Cazenave gets
NSU honors
Jake Gerard Cazenave of Vacherie recently graduated with top honors from Northwestern State University of Natchitoches. Cazenave graduated summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA from the College of Business and Technology with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Industrial Engineering Technology.
Leading his college as the top graduate, Cazenave was a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, Tau Alpha Pi Engineering Society, and Presidential Leadership Program.
He is a 2012 graduate of Edward Douglas White Catholic High School of Thibodaux. He is the son of Paul and Angela Cazenave of Vacherie and the grandson Virgie Governale and the late Anthony B. Governale.

Kennedy Michelle Sampey of Berwick made the the President’s Honor List for the spring 2016 semester at McNeese State University. To be on the President’s Honor List, an undergraduate student must earn at least a 3.5 grade point average or better while carrying at least 15 semester hours. A senior eligible for graduation but carrying less than 15 hours is also provided that student was on the President’s Honor List the previous semester.

2 make honors list at Southeastern
Clarence K. Robinson of Berwick made the Honor Roll and Hue T. Nguyen made the Dean’s List for the spring semester at Southeastern Louisiana University .
The honors list is divided into three academic levels. To be named to the President’s List, students must have earned a 3.50 or better grade point average. Students on the Dean’s List have earned a 3.20-3.49 grade point average, and Honor Roll students have earned a 3.00-3.19 grade point average. Honors list students must be full-time undergraduates carrying at least 12 credit hours and have no grade below a “C.”

Hebert graduates
from Nicholls St.
A Teche Regional Medical Center Emergency Room employee of five years, Ashley Hebert, graduated May 14with a Master’s of Science in Nursing degree from Nicholls State University.
While continuing to work PRN in the ER,s he completed her studies with a 3.9 GPA and has secured a full-time Nurse Practitioner job at a local clinic in Morgan City. Hebert obtained her undergraduate degree from Our Lady of Holy Cross College with honors in 2009 and plans to continue expanding her education.
