Voter rolls close Wednesday

Voter roll books will close on Wednesday, for the Nov. 16 for general election, according to Registrar of Voters Jolene Holcombe.
Anyone wishing to vote in this election must be registered by the close of books. Early voting for the Nov. 16 election begins on Saturday, Nov. 2 and continues through Saturday, Nov. 9. Hours for early voting are 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Early voting will be conducted at the Registrar’s Office on the third floor of the courthouse and also at the Registrar’s branch office in Morgan City at 301 Third Street. You may vote early in either office regardless of your address.
The following issues are on the ballot:
—St. Mary Parish Water and Sewer Commission 4 – Bond Proposition for the Charenton, Sorrell, Websterville and unincorporated areas around Baldwin and Franklin including the St. Joseph area. (Incur debt and issue bonds to the amount of not exceeding $3 million in one or more series, to mature on or before March 1, 2028, with interest at a rate not exceeding 8 percent per annum)
—Alderman, Town of Baldwin – Runoff if necessary.
