Wednesday is final day to register for Dec. election

The books for the congressional general election will close Wednesday.
Anyone wishing to vote in the Dec. 6 election must be registered by then, St. Mary Registrar of Voters Jolene Holcombe said.
Early voting for the Dec. 6 election will be Saturday, Nov. 22 through Saturday, Nov. 29. The registrar’s office will be closed Nov. 27 and 28 in observance of the Thanksgiving holidays.
Hours for early voting are 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the registrar’s offices in the parish courthouse or at 301 Third St., Morgan City. Anyone can vote at either location regardless of home address.
The ballot will consist of any run-offs resulting from the November primary election and a law enforcement district proposition for a one-half cent sales tax.
