THRIFT STORE
At 304 South Railroad, Morgan City, holding a 10 cents clearance 8:30-11 a.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, in September and Oct. 1. Store will close at 11 a.m. Oct 1 for cleaning and restocking. It will reopen at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 16 with uniforms, fall and winter clothing at regular prices. All proceeds benefit Sacred Heart Catholic charities.

FREE CLOTHES
For the family given away Saturday, Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to noon under the U.S. 90 bridge at Front Street in Morgan City.

CONTEST
Cajun Coast Visitors and Convention Bureau, and the Town of Berwick holding a Gingerbread Lighthouse Contest in conjunction with the Oct. 3-4 Berwick Lighthouse Festival on the river front. Participants sought in three age categories, age 5-11; age 12-17; and age 18 and older. Completed gingerbread lighthouses accepted through Sept. 25 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Cajun Coast. First to third place awards presented Oct. 30.
