The Morgan City Red Sox, a 13U travel ball team, placed third in the Grand Slam World Series in Panama City Beach, Florida. The event was held June 20-June 25. The team finished the tournament with a 5-2 mark. The Red Sox began the tournament with a doubleheader, defeating Bones, 7-5, and Thunder,
7-6. The squad then continued action later in the week with a 5-2 win against Powerhouse before splitting a doubleheader. The squad fell to the Snipers, 10-0, but defeated the Warriors, 5-4. On championship day, the tournament’s final day, the Red Sox defeated Powerhouse, 5-4, but were eliminated from the

The Morgan City Red Sox 9U travel ball team won the Battle in Acadiana XIV tournament May 14-15 in Carencro. The squad defeated the Patriots, 13-8, and the Rookies, 15-7, Saturday. Sunday, the Red Sox defeated the Blue Jays, 7-6, the Cajuns, 10-7, and the Patriots, 14-2, for the title.
