St. Mary Parish’s Most Wanted

By ZACHARY FITZGERALD zfitzgerald@daily-review.com

One suspect who had been featured in The Daily Review’s Most Wanted edition for more than a year and another suspect who was in the edition for just six days were both caught by authorities in January.
Morgan City
On Jan. 5, previously-run suspect Mitchell Freeman, 52, of Austin, Texas, was arrested on a warrant for bank fraud by theft of $4,800 and a warrant for forgery.
On Dec. 6, 2013, Morgan City police detectives began an investigation into a theft that was reported from a La. 182 business, Morgan City Assistant Police Chief Mark Griffin Jr. said in a news release. Detectives uncovered evidence which indicated that someone had committed theft of several blank checks from the business, Griffin said.
Detectives learned that one of the stolen checks had been cashed at a bank in return for $4,800 in cash, Griffin said. Detectives were able to identify Freeman as the suspect during the investigation using videotaped surveillance, Griffin said. Freeman was ultimately located in Evansville, Indiana, and transported to Morgan City, Griffin said.
Police are also still trying to find John Joseph Marchetti, who was first featured in April 2013. Marchetti is wanted on two counts of theft more than $500 totaling $5,600, two counts of bank fraud and two counts of forgery.
Anyone with any information on Marchetti is asked to contact the Morgan City Police Department detectives Division at 985-380-4605.
Franklin
On Jan. 1, previously featured suspect Holly Hebert, 35, of West Main Street in Franklin, was arrested on warrants for two counts forgery and unauthorized use of an access card. Hebert was also arrested on a warrant for Chitimacha Police Department for second degree battery. Hebert turned herself in at the Franklin Police Department, Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire said. Hebert was featured in the December 2014 Most Wanted edition.
The warrants for the Franklin Police Department stem from an incident that occurred Oct. 19, the chief said. The victim used a credit card to purchase goods at a business in the 1800 block of Main Street and Hebert did not return the credit card to the victim, McGuire said.
Hebert was accused of using the credit card at two different locations, signing the victim’s name on the receipt, McGuire said. Hebert was jailed.

Paul, whose last known address is in the 700 block of Iberia Street in Franklin, is wanted on a warrant dated Feb. 26, 2012, for disturbing the peace by fighting, criminal damage to property and simple battery. Paul was first featured in August 2014.
Parker, is wanted on warrants dated June 5, 2014, for simple criminal damage to property and aggravated assault. Officers are seeking Parker after an incident where he is accused of threatening the victim with a knife during a verbal altercation and damaging the victim’s vehicle, McGuire said.
